18 Day Survival Course

This course will take place at locations in the Waterberg & Kruger National Park.


This course has 4 phases & includes a big 5 walking trail (Big 5 Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino)

Phase 1 (6 Days)

  • Tracks, Spoor – Identification & interpretation
  • Trees, Grasses – Identification, medicinal, edible, toxins
  • Birds – Identification & behaviour
  • Mammals – Identification & behaviour
  • Reptiles – Identification & behaviour
  • Reptiles – Snake bite treatment
  • Bush Survival – Water location, fire, direction, sustenance, protection
  • First Aid – Self-medication, natural remedies

Phase 2 (4 Days)

  • Animal anatomy – Skinning, dissection, anatomy study
  • Carcass preparation
  • Bush cuisine – Source & utilisation
  • Musketry – Basic & advanced weapons training
  • Bush skills – Camouflage & concealment

Phase 3 (4 Days)

  • Situation Evaluation
  • Leadership Evaluation
  • Musketry & Self-Defence Evaluation
  • Search & Evasion
  • Anti-Poaching Tasks
  • Survival Task
  • Examination

Phase 4 (4 Days)

  • Big 5 walking trail in the Kruger National Park
  • Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo areas
  • Big Game Tracking skills on foot
  • Big 5 identification & observation
  • Wilderness conservation education
  • Reptile & Bird Identification
